Wangler & Abele at Siedle
The design bureau Wangler & Abele based in Munich is up among the leading names in the field of information and signage system planning. Its design concepts for public spaces are particularly well known; examples of their work include Munich Airport or the Reichstag building in Berlin.
Ursula Wangler, Frank Abele and their Team met with experts in building communication at the Siedle headquarters to sound out interfaces and approaches for possible cooperation. The focus was on the design possibilities for communication and signage systems from the Siedle Steel design line.
This high-end system draws together communication, orientation and information using a standardized design and offers outstanding creative scope for designers to comply with individual needs. It also blends in with architectural concepts and with the surrounding materials, permitting the implementation of individual corporate design concepts or colour coded orientation systems. Frank Abele enthuses about the successful implementation of this impressive concept: "Steel is just what we envisage; Reserved, never obtrusive. It abides by architectural principles, provides a continuation of the architectural styling and always remains pleasingly restrained.Steel opens up the scope we need for really creative design.“
Siedle and Wangler & Abele last worked together on implementation of the "Westgate" office complex in Cologne. Here, the bureau integrated Siedle Steel into the building's orientation concept. The designers are now particularly keen to cooperate on projects with a highly individualized appeal and also with the new IP system Siedle Access; for example for the implementation of information kiosks in highly frequented locations.
