Invitation to the ARCH+ features 3:
raumlaborberlin on the subject of thresholds

The third in the discussion series "ARCH+ features" is dedicated to a bureau which places thresholds at the focus of its work - and crosses over them: raumlaborberlin stands for a uniquely cross-genre and interdisciplinary approach to spaces. A recurring theme visited by the bureau is the borders between the public and the private. raumlaborberlin has achieved familiarity by staging installations and performances which confront this issue of threshold spaces. The kitchen monument, the mountain in the Palast der Republik, the Eichbaum opera house and most recently the Bang Bang project in Korea.
Matthias Rick from raumlabor will be discussing the current room production as part of ARCH+ features.
For the first time, ARCH+ features will be staged not in Berlin but in Cologne. On the occasion of the imm Cologne and the Passagen exhibition, we will be the guests of the Meiré und Meiré factory together with ARCH+ and raumlaborberlin.
Following on from our event, you will have the opportunity to view the installation "BACK ROOM, adults only" which will be exhibited by Mike Meiré as part of the Passagen 2011. He will be setting up a type of miracle chamber, a subversive back room with which - this much we can divulge - he also intends to cross thresholds.
