Business Medal for Horst Siedle

Minister of Finance Ernst Pfister presented the Baden-Württemberg Business Medal to Horst Siedle. With this prestigious medal, the State has paid tribute not only to the economic success of the entrepreneur but also to his services to the community. In recognition of his commitment as a local politician, Siedle was also presented with the Theodor-Heuss medal from the liberal democrat party FDP.
This distinction was conferred by the State Government not just in recognition of Horst Siedle's economic success, as Pfister emphasized, but also to honour the achievements behind it. "Your outstanding dedication and commitment have turned your company into a leading international enterprise. All along, you have taken your responsibility as an entrepreneur to society and to the community very seriously", explained the Minister. This responsibility has been evident not only in the company's loyalty to its producing location in Furtwangen and an above-average quota of offered traineeships, but also in terms of its continued willingness to break new ground. "You have always had the knack of implementing key innovative technologies at the right time", continued Pfister. By deploying this strategy, Siedle has always accepted the challenge of making production in the high-wage state of Baden-Württemberg profitable and standing up to international competition.
The reception was hosted by the Liberal Democrat FDP party, of which Siedle has been a member for 40 years: Not as a silent member but as a politically and socially highly active liberal. The Parliamentary Leader of the FDP fraction in the German Parliament, Ernst Burgbacher, honoured the civic initiative and long-standing commitment of local government politician Siedle by presenting the Theodor-Heuss medal in gold.
